Dear concerned citizens,
night the U.S. House of Representatives voted on the "continuing
resolution" that will fund the federal government until the adoption
of a new budget.
amendment to the continuing resolution would block and funding from being used
to implement the Chesapeake Bay "pollution diet" (TMDL) and state
Watershed Implementation Plans.
amendment was offered by Virginia Congressman Bob Goodlatte and the following
representatives voted to cut the funding: Cantor, Forbes, Goodlatte,
Griffith, Hurt, Rigell and Wolf.
a moment to send a letter expressing your disappointment in their
decision to undo 25 years worth of bi-partisan efforts to save the Chesapeake

is not too late to restore this funding. The Senate has yet to debate the bill
and a compromise is likely. Your message will make a difference!
