What you need to know about the 2010 General Assembly Session
Thank you for being active in the Virginia Conservation Network and for helping to make change happen in Virginia. With the start of the 2010 General Assembly, we want to make sure that you know how to contact your state legislators and how you can track issues of importance to you.
As the session progresses we'll help keep you informed on bills that impact issues like land use and transportation, land conservation, historic preservation, and energy efficiency.
Bills are taken up by each house, there is crossover half-way through the Session (On February 22nd: approved bills are sent from the House to Senate or vice versa), and bills that make it through both chambers are ultimately sent to the Governor for approval.
Want to find out what legislation is being proposed and what actions have taken place on a specific bill?
Be sure to keep checking for updates on the many crucial environmental issues and take a moment to write or call your legislators to remind them that you’re counting on them to forge sound environmental policy for the Commonwealth.
Just remember, to stay involved and learn more about proposed legislation, visit the General Assembly 101 section on the VCN website.
