Sunday, April 18: Community Get-Together for a Safer Connecticut Ave
Dear Smart Growth Supporters,
|Help make Connecticut Avenue safer for pedestrians.
Last year, a group of community members and organizations from Chevy Chase, Tenleytown, Cleveland Park, and Woodley Park came together to make Connecticut Avenue a safer place for us to walk. They formed Connecticut Avenue Pedestrian Action (CAPA). We're excited about this effort and our policy director Cheryl Cort has been an active partipant. CAPA has worked for months to develop a pedestrian plan for Connecticut from Calvert St up to Chevy Chase Circle -- and now they need your help.
CAPA is launching a pedestrian safety audit and they need volunteers to assist with the audit along with donations and community support. If you're interested in helping out or learning more, please join them for the kick-off on Sunday, April 18, from 3-5pm. Everyone in the community is welcome to stop by. Councilmember Mary Cheh will attend. There will be food from area restaurants, music of local musicians, and of course, the great company of your neighbors.
